Cuando un ser querido fallece, sus bienes y deudas forman su sucesión. Para disponer de propiedades, cuentas o vehículos, los herederos deben completar varios pasos: determinar si hubo testamento, obtener la declaratoria de herederos cuando no lo hubo, cumplir con el Departamento de Hacienda y repartir los bienes.When a loved one passes away, their assets and debts form the estate. To dispose of property, accounts or vehicles, the heirs must complete several steps: determine whether there was a will, obtain a declaration of heirs when there wasn't, comply with the Puerto Rico Treasury Department and divide the assets.
